Internet Explorer Security Zones

Issue

This check lists the current and recommended security settings for the IE zones for each local user on the scanned computer. Zones that are not using the recommended setting are flagged in the scan report.

Note: Zones that have Custom settings may be more secure than the recommended settings in the tool. While the tool will report that custom settings are used for each zone, it cannot determine whether these settings are more secure than the recommended setting.

Solution

Use the recommended Internet Explorer zone settings in the scan report.

Instructions

Perform the following steps:

Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Security tab, click each content zone, and then click on Custom Level to set the security settings.
